I am trying to work out which laser would be best at laser hair removal for me. I have brown hair and a slight tan.

Laser hair removal can be achieved with a number of different lasers. What is too often overlooked is the knowledge and experience of the practitioner combined with an appropriate laser is a really important consideration when looking for good laser hair removal results without causing dermal damage.
Dark skins types suite a ND Yag laser as they cause less dermal damage.
The Alexandrite laser can be used for a range of skin types and is fast.
IPL may also be suitable but we would need to see exactly what you meant by tan. IPL is not as good as the ND Yag for example at dark skin types.
