Thread lifts are a relatively new form of non surgical face lift. If your face has loosening or sagging skin and you want a tighter, fresher more youthful look, you should seriously consider this treatment.
It’s a facelift without surgery, there are no cuts and no incisions, just injections.
We’ve been amazed at how effective it is. Our patients love the results and many of our own staff have wanted the treatment. In fact, we think this is the best non surgical facelift available and predict this will become our number one treatment.
How does a Thread Lift Work?
Using a really fine needle, special dissolvable threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO) are injected into the skin, and sometimes the muscle, to tighten the skin.
The PDO threads have a powerful dual effect. The first is to give an immediate lifting effect. The second is to stimulate your bodies own Collagen, Elastin and Hyaluronic Acid.
- Collagen is a protein responsible for the tension and firmness of your skin.
- Elastin is responsible for skin firmness and elasticity.
- Hyaluronic Acid causes your skin to rehydrate. Stimulating your own skin’s own production of hyaluronic acid results in improved skin moisture and less-prominent wrinkles.
What’s great about PDO threads is they do not have hooks or tapers that raise tissue. The lifting effect is achieved by a special thread weave producing a smoother tighter look immediately.
How are the PDO threads inserted?
Thread lifts are non-surgical with the medical practitioner using a very fine needle to insert the threads into the areas that need lifting. Because there are no cuts or incision required there’s no scarring.
Is the treatment painful?
We look to manage treatment discomfort as much as possible and use local anaesthetic cream that dramatically reduce the pain of injections.
An instant facelift with immediate results
You really will see instant results with a thread lift. And as the days and weeks go by the look you’ll get will improve, as your body starts to work by producing Collagen, Elastin and Hyaluronic Acid.
How long does a PDO thread-lift work?
In addition to the immediate lift, the great news is, over subsequent weeks following the treatment, results will continue to improve and can last 1-2 years as your own body produces Collagen, Elastin and Hyaluronic Acid. Making this form of non surgical facelift a very long lasting treatment.
The thread itself is designed to dissolve into your body in between 180 and 240 days, after new fibrous connective tissue around the thread has been generated.
What’s the downside?
The threads cause a very mild reaction with some patients experiencing some swelling and bruising as a result of the injections. This is normally light but we can’t rule out it being severe. Everyone reacts slightly differently. Timing your treatment to take this into account is advised.
How much does a thread lift cost?
The cost of your thread lift depends on the number of threads required. Prices start from £500 for wrinkles around the mouth or crows feet but the typical price for the lower part of the face and neck is in the region of £1,500. A more accurate price can be given after your free consultation.
